UPDATE: Survivor: Edge of Extinction

Quote

The thirty-eighth edition of Survivor is currently filming in Fiji and Inside Survivor has learned from a number of sources that the title and theme of the season will be Edge of Extinction.

Quote

After each Tribal Council, the eliminated castaway will have a choice to leave the game or go to the Island of Extinction where they will have no shelter, limited food supplies and nothing but time on their hands as they await a chance to potentially get back in the game. They can choose to quit at any time. Basically Redemption Island but without the weekly duels.

Update: 07/13/18

Quote

"Inside Survivor can now confirm that the theme will indeed work like the original Ghost Island concept mentioned above. When a player is eliminated they can choose to quit or go to the Island of Extinction (IOE). Players can leave at any time. There will be two chances for a player to win their way back into the game – at the merge and then around Day 35/36. The IOE does not reset at the merge; the extinct castaways who don’t win their way back into the game can continue to live on the IOE until Day 35/36 when the second opportunity to reenter arises. Yes, that means pre-merge boots could be living alongside post-merge boots. And yes, that theoretically means the entire cast could still be alive in the game come Day 35/36. It could also mean a player eliminated on Day 3 still has a chance to reenter and win the season."

How Jury Works: update 07/20/2018:

Quote

Many people have asked how the jury will work in regards to this twist, well, we can finally shed some light on that matter. Every eliminated player who chooses to stay on Extinction Island will be part of the jury. Yes, that means, theoretically, all 15 castaways not in the Final 3 could be a jury member. It could also mean those eliminated early are voting for people they’ve never met at Final Tribal Council.

As previously revealed on Inside Survivor, the thirty-eighth edition of the long-running reality-show will feature four returning Survivor castaways competing against 16 brand new players. The season is currently filming in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands and is scheduled to air on CBS in early 2019.

Below are the four former castaways who will return on Season 38.

The four returning players are:

Aubry Bracco (s32/34)

David Wright (s33)

Joe Anglim (s30/31)

Kelly Wentworth (s29/31)

Quote

It’s not yet clear how the tribes will be divided, whether the cast will be split into four tribes of five with one returnee on each or if there will be two tribes of ten with a pair of returnees on each in a sort of ‘co-captains’ format.

Ugh. I hate when they have mixed seasons. Either do a season with all returning players or one with all new players.

That said, I'm ready for queen Kelley to slay. She came the **** through in Cambodia and gave us some amazing moments.

Kinda shocked that Aubry is playing again, she didn't seem to enjoy Game Changers.

Already dreading David & Joe

The only one I'm excited for is Wentworth

YAAS Wentworth :heart2:

Ugh at David. I was so sick of him MvGx.

Joe is ok I guess.
And they really like Aubry huh? I kinda liked her on her first season and thought she should've won but on GC she was so boring and invisible. Hopefully she's better the 3rd time around.

That being said I also really dislike mixed seasons.

I thought they'd save David for a full returnee season.

In before they rig the season in his favor and he still loses.

Miles.

Ugh not returnees.

Although I do like Joe and Kelley.

Survivor needs a renaissance. There have been too many awful seasons in a row.

We always go thru a series of slump seasons, but they always bounce back eventually.

Why have Joe again when we just had Devon, the best of his archetype yet?
