Not Rihanna being above her peers in the albums category despite being labeled as a singles artist, she truly gets the last laugh EVERYTIME :bibliahh:

Well to be fair, she released the most albums out of all of her peers. For example, she released twice as much albums as Katy Perry, so how is that a fair comparison? :rip:

Same thing.

  • The Fame (it was re-released with TFM, just like Rihanna re-released GGGB)
  • Born This Way
  • ARTPOP
  • Joanne
  • Chromatica

(ASIB is not counted here)

  • Music of the Sun
  • A Girl Like Me
  • GGGB (+ re-release)
  • Rated R
  • Loud
  • Talk That Talk
  • Unapologetic
  • Anti

5 albums VS 8 albums, and keep in mind Chromatica was just released, it's still top 10 on the official chart in it's 6th week, so it will obviously keep selling. Based on all of this Rihanna has an obvious adventage :)

The « more albums » doesn’t work here sweetheart.

The Fame was bigger than Rihanna’s first two albums combined so it’s not like MOTS and AGLM matter that much. Rihanna has more albums but Gaga a bigger peak, so Gags is definitely the one who has an obvious advantage... that didn’t pay off :)

Aren't Loud and GGGB above 2m in the UK? TF is at 3m including a re-release, so the comparison is more than fair.

But even if Gaga had the same amount of albums as Rihanna, she still wouldn't surpass her in the UK.

Gaga's UK certifications since Artpop:

Artpop - Gold

Joanne - Gold

ASIB - Platinum

Chromatica - Silver (so far)

There is a gap of +2M between the two and a platinum album equates to 300k units.

Gaga needs at least 7 more platinum albums in the UK to surpass Rihanna.

The point is, Gaga could've released albums as frequent as Rihanna. You can't now for sure how would have her 2010 or her 2012 albums performed had she released them :coffee2:  And again, the OP is not counting ASIB in this thread.

But your point is not making any sense.

It's not about the number of albums you've released, but about HOW they perform.

Rihanna's albums in the UK have been frequently certified platinum, while Gaga's last platinum album in the UK was BTW.

Clearly, Gaga could have dropped album after album, the demand for her in the UK wasn't as strong.

How is my point not making any sense? :toofunny2:

This could've been a possible scenario had Gaga released two additional albums.

2008/9 - TF - 3m copies sold
2010 - LG2 ~2m copies sold

2011 - BTW - 1m copies sold

2012 - LG4 - 0.5m copies sold

2013 - ARTPOP - 0.25m copies sold

So basically her career could've kept going downhill but it wouldn't be as drastic album to album since she wouldn't take a 3 years break between albums.

Again, this is just a scenario, we'll never know what could've been.

What even? How do u she would’ve sold that much?

Rihanna > Gaga in the UK in both albums and singles. It’s not about the amount of albums, Taylor Swift has 7 albums but still hasn’t reached half of what Rihanna’s has sold so your point?

Yea, lets just ignore the ENTIRE discussion between me and the other member, ignore the context and me using the word "scenario" a couple of times :biblio:
