In terms of sales, the artist to beat was Emeli Sande, whose album Our Version Of Events landed straight in at Number 1 back in 2012 with first week sales of just over 113,000. Real name Rory Graham, Rag'n'Bone Man pipped Emeli to score the best first week sales for any BRITs Critics' Choice winner ever.

Jessie J also scored a huge opening week in March 2011 with Who You Are, with 106,000 sold in its first seven days, while Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour shifted an impressive 101,000 in its first week.

Not the table under switching Sam Smith and Tom Odell in the order in which they appear on the picture grid.
