Biden is top choice to challenge Trump in 2020

Former Vice President Joe Biden swears he would have “beat the hell” out of President Donald Trump in high school — but could he knock him out of the White House in 2020?

The 75-year-old is currently the most popular choice to lead the Democratic ticket in the next presidential election, according to CNN’s analysis of national polls conducted throughout 2018. In fact, a University of New Hampshire survey suggests he’d wipe the slate of potential Democratic candidates clean — including Rep. Joseph Kennedy III (D-MA), Sen. Elizabeth Warren and even Oprah Winfrey, securing the opportunity to take on an incumbent Trump.

The only person who could throw a wrench into the scenario is Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). The Independent Vermont senator — who isn’t registered as a Democrat, but, of course, ran in the Democratic primary in 2016 — trails Biden with 21 percent of support among potential Democratic candidates, while the former vice president leads with 27 percent.

He's too old and I feel like he has some shady stuff in his closet.

No thanks.

Initial surveys mean nothing, once the election process starts all the figures will changed as the smear campaigns from either side begin.

Can he just kick his ass on the side and let Kamala take her rightful place? Bernie needs to stand down too. Out with the old.

Biden is literally all the bad parts of Hillary with nothing good. :skull:

Just cause people like memes of him doesn't mean he should be president.

This is why liberalism eats itself alive.

Then who do you suggest should run? :) What other options do you think there are? :)

No. People will jump on him touching little girls and stuff.

And helllllll no to Warren. She has no charisma and is very unlikable. We need a candidate as universally liked as possible and she is FAR from that.

The face is less important than the policy, and Biden is awful because he'd never push leftist policy.

He's antiquated and obsessed with old days. He was a hardline moderate Dem even decades ago, let alone how those views skew rightwards now. Try telling millennials and working class people to vote for him once they find the type of legislation he wrote to support cops and to make debt relief harder and dismantled bankruptcy rights for the benefit of banks.

Dems need to focus on midterms before focusing on 2020. There's a few names to consider that first need to protect their seats.

Frankly it has to be Sanders (with a blue wave to get universal healthcare) or a woman.

Anything else is just...

I love Bernie Sanders, but it's not realistic at all. First off, as one of his supporters, most of the other supporters were the absolute WORST for choosing not to vote for Hillary in the final election. Secondly, the war between the two candidates' supporters was beyond unnecessary as neither side really tried to help the other out, even if Bernie continually said to vote for Hillary :dies:

Nah we need someone fresh

I would die if Kamala ran and won but I don’t think she has very good odds if she does
