LesFleur
Alexandra Burke's Official Top 10 biggest hits revealed To celebrate the singer's return with new album The Truth Is, OfficialCharts.com reveals her ten biggest tracks. UK Official Charts Company stanning for Queen Alexandra They even used an Overcome photo. They remember the slayage. How iconic that era was. Quote When Alexandra Burke won The X Factor in 2008, chart success seemed inevitable. Across the series fans had watched her grow into a fully fledged popstar, culminating in a *somewhat* emotional duet with Beyonce during the show's final. It's regularly voted as the moment X Factor reached its peak. Her winner's single, a gospel version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, is the second best-selling XF single in the show's history (1.3 million sales excluding streams), so there's no prize for working out which is her biggest single. But what about the rest? With Alexandra's long-awaited third album The Truth Is... out this Friday (March 16), OfficialCharts.com brings you the singer's Top 10 biggest tracks. Look at Alexandra Burke's Official Chart history in full here. Behind Hallelujah is Bad Boys, a ballsy stomp-a-thon about her affection for men who ride motorbikes and probably still live with their mum. Guest rapper Flo Rida attempts to step up to the plate, claiming Alexandra's penchant for the "rougher fellas" is so great that even when it comes to the alphabet she "only sings the crooked letters". We're still not quite sure what that means, but we're inclined to believe him. Bad BoysOfficial Chart peak: Number 1, one week (October 2009)Combined sales: 814,000 After Bad Boys, Alexandra teamed up with pop producer of the moment RedOne (who was riding on a wave of hits for Lady Gaga) for follow-up Broken Heels. Softer and bouncier than its predecessor with a brilliantly camp video to match, a huge part of the track's success was Alexandra's ability to sell a song, no matter how ludicrous. Broken HeelsOfficial Chart peak: Number 8 (January 2010)Combined sales: 345,000 Alexandra's fourth single, All Night Long, is the oft-forgotten gem in her catalogue. Serving as the third single from her debut album Overcome, the track was re-worked for its single release with added electro-swizzles and chucking on Pitbull for a guest rap. Both should immediately carbon date this single to 2010, but its joyous and carefree sentiment still holds up today. All Night LongOfficial Chart Park: Number 4 (May 2010)Combined sales: 314,000 If you needed further proof of Alexandra's superhero-like ability to sell a song, then look no further than Start Without You. Produced by RedOne, the track is essentially a re-tread of Boney M's Hooray! Hooray! It's Holi-Holiday accompanied by a Jane Fonda workout-inspired music video. That said, Alexandra's infectious sense of fun shone through and it managed an impressive two weeks at Number 1.
