Since when Daya's Cool is an airplay single? :rip:

it's not. Radio Disney & Sirius XM Venus channel just started playing it on their own. And this week that station was the third to add it.

Good. If Words didn't smashed, Cool wouldn't either.

I am ready for her second album.

:skull::rip: GOODBYE!

New Audience Peak

Thursday SOY, with just under 250 M AI, surpassed UF's AI "at one time" record (not sure about the combined peaks though), thanks to Urban AC playing the song enough to reach the Top 50. Also, we know Ed is still receiving some small amounts of airplay at AAA and Latin Urban.

We will have to wait and see what UAC does with the song, as SOY is not the perfect fit for the format (nor AAA) that TOL was. Also, SOY has reached the Top 3 in all four formats in the Pop Quadrant (at least in spins), with #1 in T40 and HAC, and #3 on Rhythmic and AC. UF hit #1 on T40, HAC, and Rhy, but peaked at 3 (I think, maybe 4) on AC. Let us see what BB says Monday, as UF hit 190 M on HRS, and SOY was at 185 M this past Monday.

I admit, I did not see any way SOY would get past 225 M on MB AI, and 170 M on BB HRS. Still, with slipping sales and ODS, SOY could hold onto #1 Airplay by a significant margin, but it could still lose to Humble on the Hot 100 due to Humble's growing advantage on ODS and HDS.

I learned a long time ago that people would rather remain blissfully unaware of what's going on than knowing what's happening and trying to fix it. That's what Perry's CTTR is about, and its airplay performance clearly prove she's right.

Something Just Like This had the biggest update overall getting 3M+  :duca: :1stplace:

I hope he can still pass SOY, and not just break "Zaylor's" record (T40, not overall, although Mars could take that title too), for the largest spin and audience peak totals for a song failing to reach #1. The SOY & Like both being well past 200 M on AI reminds me of Happy, Dark Horse, and All Of Me all staying above 200 M for a significant length of time. However, in that case, at least all three songs spent time at the Top. Unlike Forever, Like will probably have better longevity. Forever has crashed the fastest (especially in airplay) for significantly sized hits than any other song in recent memory.

Katy's drop on radio means her next single is coming though. Probably next week.

These days when a single out of the blue DROPS collectively across the country, it's obvious the label has told them to stop playing it and to prepare to move onto the next single. Hence Million Reasons the past week, and few days before The Cure was released.

Maybe so, but the Chainsmokers didn't have to give up any of Closer's airplay to allow Paris and the Coldplay collaboration to smash.

Closer was gunning for most weeks in Top 10 ever, so I think that's reasonable enough reason to not pull it's airplay, seeing as that was the main component keeping it in Top 10.

Similar will happen with Shape of You probably. Despite Castle on the Hill already being announced and pushed, Shape of You is still going strong because it could've potentially broken One Sweet Day's record on Hot 100 -- so why would the label want to pull the plug on it?

I just wanted to point out that labels don't always pressure radio into dropping songs to make room for the follow ups. SIO and BS is a similar example.

Looks at "Something Just Like This" and "Paris" :celestial5:

Edit: My bad, thought this was on the CTTR page and didn't notice this was already discussed.

CTTR has obviously been pulled. The drop is too big and too sudden. :rip: They've done literally everything they can do for CTTR, it's time for single #2.

The weird thing about CTTR is that it reached around 80 million quickly and then stalled in the 80-90 million range for weeks and weeks :rip:

exactly. And then after weeks of staying stable it started had huge decreases? there's obviously a reason behind this.

New single next Friday most likely

Radio listeners were not here for CTTR either.

It's call-out scores had been improving week after week... Wyd? And it never even reached top 10 in familiarity...

"Rockabye" started in the bottom of the call-out scores and stayed there for a couple of weeks and then it started improving as its familiarity rose. So if you don't know what you're talking about, I'd recommend you to do your research.

I'll be posting the call-out scores for this week shortly.

Gonna be top10 on HAC.

Already Top20 on AAA, will hit Top20 on ALT.

Rhythmic needs to get on board. They had no issues playing Chainsmokers in the past :dancehall:

Post them all you want, sweetie. If the public were here for that song, it wouldn't have stalled the way it did.

It was a worldwide hit but it didn't do as you Kats expected it in the US.

And I didn't mention call-out scores on my post, so if you want to play clever, go play with one of those Beliebers you argue here 24/7.

Knowing about that stuff won't get me money or so...

So "Shape Of You" finally reached 250 AI audience afterall. :clap3:

I'm a Coldplay fanatic and I haven't heard that song because of The Chainsmokers.

CTTR definitely had issues connecting to the American GP. It's weird how it topped airplay charts in Europe yet struggled this much in the US. They just aren't here for pure pop anymore, I guess :michael:

If you like Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall and A sky Full Of Stars, you will love this. It's basically a Pop Coldplay song with a Chainsmokers breakdown. It also has an amazing Jonny Buckland guitar riff towards the end.

According to the Chainsmokers, Chris wrote the whole song after hearing Drew play some notes on his keyboard.

But I do not want to give my coins to The Chainsmokers.

Let me edit their name out and save it as a Codlplay song. :eli:

I am glad they're having a hit.
