Cap10Planet Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Interesing that none of Drake's #1 songs went to #1 on mainstream radio or overall radio.
Starkboy Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 I think Super Bowl is helping M5, they're even increasing on iTunes.

I'm just saying. GLY going from negative to a strong positive in a matter of days is not the norm. It's definitely getting a last minute push for #1. Maybe Superbowl is helping, but I doubt it. Get money, bitch. IMF and Drake have spent enough time at #1 this year. I'm all for Cardi B coming up on top after these last two weeks of "negative" publicity. We haven't seen a debut like this in quite sometime.

In my feelings was in the same spot in terms of gains last tracking week gaining almost a million on pop so the it artists that “payola” together remain at the summit I suppose...

There was probably some on his front too when he realized how close Maroon 5 was at getting #1 and that he just had one more week to break the record for most weeks at #1 in a calender year. The discount said it all. Those occurrences are not normal.

Well my suspicions a couple weeks ago proved to be true as it seems maroons label remove their discount because it knew the #1 was inevitable with IMF fast decline...up until a week ago.

That’s possible but IMF barely saw the holds GLY is. Pop #1s typically get there and start going down not soon after. Granted it is a huge summer song and nothing is coming quick to replace it. Does Taki Taki have a release date or? Edited September 20, 2018 by Rico Shameless v2

nick4bty Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 I've never seen Top 40 radio so empty and hitless before in my 10 years following. Are there just no hits right now or what? In what world would Sabrina Carpenter, Weezer, Kim Petras, Panic at the Disco, Tiesto, Martin Garrix, BTS, Mike Posner, Kygo, Tyga, Anne-Marie, and a bunch of others be getting airplay at the same time? It's crazy 26M AI to get into the Top 10, them desperately clinging onto Maroon 5, Drake, and Post, Selena finally getting a hit, NF and Kygo getting followup hits. I'm just mindblown over this
iHype. Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 Drake #1, #2, and #3 on the biggest Urban station currently. [IMF is listed #4, but it's tied in spins with #3 and has a larger audience]

levi_valvi Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 so GLY just gained another 2M on IMF, #1 should be in the bag, right? The SB announcement could not have been timed better

Green Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 In My Feelings and I like it getting Despacito'd
theweekend Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 10 minutes ago, Green said: In My Feelings and I like it getting Despacito'd IMF is freefalling on POP, RHY and URBAN while ILI is only getting rid off of POP. Cardi is very stable in both Top 10 URBAN and RHYTHMIC. Despacito got its fate because Luis Fonsi isn’t a staple on radio, mainly on POP and HAC panels which represented the majority of its audience, so it fell out fast, while it lasted much more on Latin formats. ILI will be fine in its long run, but we shouldn’t expect much from pop format.
