it was also about time for one right now to finally fall  massively idk how it even lasted in top 10 so long

I know, so random. I wonder if that's a thing with Pop radio, they choose some of the most random song with mediocre stats to support it as a "filler" on their playlists. For example: One Right Now, ilp (i love payola baby) and Arcade (Duncan Laurence). :rip:

It went recurrent. Songs that have peaked oficially in the Top 10 and have already spent 20 weeks charting switch to "recurrent" status once they drop below Top 10.

Lil Nas needs to freefall, the fact they supported TWIW as probably his biggest Pop hit makes zero sense, it's nothing special.

TWIW is actually pop perfection. It’s so fun. It’s his most pop single thus far

It's a very effective carefree pop song, and I'm glad for all the success because it deserves it, but it's currently the biggest Pop radio hit of the year, and it's not like its stats scream so. Although to be fair, Pop radio seems to fully embracing it also for the fact it's probably the end of such a massive era, especially on Pop radio.

Big Energy has to be one of the worst Pop #1’s in a while. I’m tired of songs with samples of songs that are so much better. If you’re going to sample at least make it something new and interesting. Would anyone care about BE if it didnt have the sample? The rap is not catchy.

It grew on me a lot, at the point I truly enjoy it, but yeah, let's say Latto is pretty mediocre, it got a very substantial airplay support.

It’s an instant skip for me whenever its on the radio. Very few songs are instant skips for me.

"Cold Heart" dethrones "Easy on Me" on the Adult Contemporary chart after 22 weeks non-consecutive weeks atop, tied for the 5th longest running number-one hit on the format. That would be Elton's 18th #1 hit and Dua's 2nd there.

TWIW is affected by not having a follow up single. It gives the song more longevity because stations don’t have to switch for the new song

They don't credit Mariah on Big Energy, so nope it's Genius of Love (1981) but I get why you'd say Fantasy

Oh wow I thought the whole reason Mariah was on the remix was because she was credited for the sample :deadbanana:

No, I'm still one of those to turn the volume up whenever it comes on the radio, and I've been hearing it since late 2020, it's hella melancholic bop. Most beloved hit on Pop radio for a reason. :katie2:

Funny how it could end up being the biggest hit of the year overall tho. :rip:

She should tho, Latto's interpolation of "Bad *****, I can be your fantasy" can't be more obvious.
