And Jon Bon Jovi will be 95 and still selling out arena tours and getting number one albums through bundles. Meanwhile where’s the 2010s stars?

And what does this have to do with what I said?

i don't say "# of t3 hits are the more important and important-to-billboard-and-artists stat compared to # of t10 hits."

i personally just feel t3 is a good barometer for smashiness.

it's what they use for the olympics and such.

plus atrl is obsessed with saying x y and z are Trinities.

Your fave has 2 big hits. You can choose if they peak at a.) #5 and #11 OR b.) #6 and #10.

I would very easily choose b.

i don’t think there’s a musician that would say thank god I only went top ten, top five just isn’t a milestone,

Why would you say such a dumb thing?

Yeah 5 is better than 6. And 4 is better than 5. Cool, cool.

There’s always that one song that feels like a forced hit that you have no choice but to listen to. The Middle is that song

This.

I would always choose getting the bigger hit. Hitting #5 shows you can get that level of public popularity and means you have a better shot at getting #1. Top 10 is a success but I'd rather get the bigger hit even if the second hit was slightly less than Top 10.

Except thst isn’t the initial argument.

the initial issue was why a number five was not mentioned in the topic and number ten was. You said having a top ten is more important aka milestone.

now suddenly it’s two songs each.

getting a top five hit is more a milestone than getting less than s top five hit. And every artist fights for that top five spot, and doesn’t say, ow well, no more work on that song it’s top ten that will do, let’s kill it do it doesn’t go top five,  I’d rather have a top ten.

its just absurd as I initially said.  And really your first response was done to put down Bebe, as you clearly get your licks in on her talent level,

Wtf are you even talking about :ahh:

The discussion was about if a song going top 10 or top 5 was more notheworthy / important and what should be in the title. Going top 10 is always more important in my opinion, so yes it's a more important milestone.

I have no idea how you got all that weird stuff from that. I have never said #6 is better than #5 or people should prevent their songs from going top 5. Going top 5 is also great, just not as big as going top 10.

And of course you can best illustrate that by 2 songs. Thought that was obvious, but its not when you twist words and interpret bull**** into them.

And no I have no problem with Bebe. She's ok. Meant To Be is really good

Him & I and Let You Down are the first songs in almost six years to top the pop airplay chart despite not going top ten on the Hot 100.

The example @simmnfierzig gave makes sense.

1) #6+#10 - Gets artist/album/etc... is easily marketed as "Two Top 10 Hits!"

2) #5+#11 - Gets artist/album/etc... not as easily marketed.  You have to go "With the top 5 Hit!" or "With two Top 20 Hits!" or "With the hits X & Y!"

If I'm on a record label's marketing team I'm going to go with option #1 every day.  Makes it way easier to market an album, an artist, a tour, etc...
