Was HBHBHB overlooked?

I feel like a lot of the original Florence stans didn’t love this album when it first came out because it was sort of a different direction for the band and maybe a little understated, but since then I have noticed a lot of ATRLers have had time to appreciate its nuances and now mention it as their favourite Flo album, even above the legendary Ceremonials. Perhaps it was too ahead of its time for us mere mortals to understand. So, sistren, restrospectively should HBHBHB have received more acclaim than it did upon release? I definitely think so!

I still don't like it very much & think it's their worst album so far.

I like it, but I still think Ceremonials is better. There are some tracks that I really don't like. :dancehall:

Yes, I realized after seeing some of the songs live how incredible the album really is, it is just as good as ceremonials in my opinion.

It’s my least favorite album from them but it’s still better than almost every basic pop girl album that we stan on this forum :cm:

It's their best album by far. I love their first two but HB is another level.

I prefer Ceremonials but HBHBHB is definitely the most cohesive.

And anyone saying it’s the worst needs to take a look at the least cohesive, Lungs. A garbled mess of incredibly high highs and desperately low lows

Even though I feel like their best songs are on Ceremonials (Never Let Me Go, Only If For A Night, What The Water Gave Me, Lover to Lover), HBHBHB is their most cohesive work. The album as a whole is an experience (including deluxe tracks), so grateful that I was able to see them live twice :heart2:
