Yes, I think I'd fit right in.

Only in a metro over a million or so and in the city. Most of the larger cities in the South are fine even for LGBT folks. It's state-level politics that hold them back.

Honestly, I find a lot of large Southern metros to be less insular and often with more opportunities than a lot of the rustbelt cities that I've visited.

Depends on the job and where it's at. I would have no issue living in Austin, TX.

Not unless I had no choice, I've lived in conservative areas before so I have a realistic view of what it's like to live in places like this as a minority

Of course I would. Everybody demonises the South when in fact it's a better place to live than most.

The only people who are sheltered are people of the south who haven’t ever left the state they were born in. :dies: Talk about sheltered.

No. Despite my love-hate relationship with NYC, I can't imagine living anywhere else.

That’s how I feel but I would totally live in LA.

Obviously it'd be in the cities so sure I'd take it. But I have top choices for locations first, which does include Texas.

Most people never seen a gun pointed at them. You'll be fine

Why do you think the south is so terrible?

What makes the north better?  I’ve travelled across the US and the scariest places I’ve visited have all been in the north.

No, I found it rather depressing. More so Mississippi and Alabama.

I would, just to get my visa and then move the hell out and go to Cali/NYC. I’m considered a minority so it wouldn’t be that fun if I stayed in the south. Florida would be the only state of live in in the south.

BtW, I’m thinking of either moving to California or Florida later this year, anybody here from Florida able to tell me what it’s like? I’d most likely be in Orlando and I’ve visited there, but that’s different than actually living there.

I wouldn't consider South Florida part of the Deep South but sure. The year-round heat gets annoying so just for that i'm trying to move up North in a couple years

Depends where.

If it was a liberal area sure, but i'm not moving to some backwards hellhole.

No thank you.

I did an internship there a couple year ago and I can honestly say no unless it was in New Orleans or Atlanta. It wasn't a bad experience but just not my scene.

Same

I loved when I visited Orlando and am planning on visiting New York and Texas soon but actually living and working there is so much different to staying in a hotel for 2 weeks :cm:
