This are the usual trashy USA-living latinos or as we like to call them, chicanos; a.k.a. the worst kind. We don't claim them nor their stupid neosocialist "woke culture".

I can guarantee you that no one wants to be claimed by a trainwreck.

Wow way to stereotype. Funny you call USA-living Latinos “trashy” yet so many would jump at the chance to be one. So FOH with your superiority complex, no one cares about being “claimed” :dies:

This is hilarious, most of the time you all brag about being able to afford and have a better lifestyle than the majority of us who live on the other side of the border, calling us dirty, old-fashioned, feeling "Americanized" and trying to use us as a scapegoat whenever things get a little bit harsh, pulling out the "XENOPHOBIC! SCARED OF MY ROOTS!" card..

jhbjbj how did I miss this

I used to sort of think like this at some point but you have to live here to understand their concerns about representation.

In regards to that--Mexican media, from advertisements to soap operas, is like 90% white people even tho the demographics are quite different. Mexico could use some of that activist culture from the US a little

Where did you get that from this?

Hmm but most these latinos in Hollywood are like 3rd/4th generation, if we are looking at the Eva Mendes, Salma Hayek, Carlotta Bosch, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara etc I wouldn't be surprised if they were as native as Demi Lovato is black. :celestial5:

Actually yes, lemme do discredit them a bit. They have a problem with a white oscars but no problem with white Telemundo? Charity starts at home my latino loves.

Javan was right to call that comment out. I don't even agree with him that often but re-read what the member he quoted said and :doc:

Not quite, television isn't as respected as it should be and it probably never will be. There's a lot and back and forth about this kinda disrespect especially when it comes to critics. Just look into the Twin Peaks: The Return debacle.

Okay? I'm talking about Native Americans which is not the same thing as a Latino with Indigenous blood. Go back to school.

Uh, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Stranger Things, Big Little Lies, etc. Twin Peaks was just terrible. No one said that there weren't bad shows or shows that people were split on. However, major players in Hollywood are all signing up for television, young and old from all different backgrounds. This includes Tom Hardy, Luke Evans, Robert De Niro.

I know representation matters, and I KNOW that is a topic we all have to work on as an ethnicity. But the way some people want to shove their "progresist" bs down our throats comes off as if they think we're stupid. One of the prime examples of this is the degradation of the word "LatinX" like... Do you guys know that, latino is a genderless word, right?

So, to sum it up, we're okay if you guys want to fight for us to be more represented in the world, but do it properly, not like a parody of our ancestry, that's almost disrespectful.

I didn't get it from that post. I got it from your first post where your only intention was to try and checkmate someone's ancestry for brownie points.

There you go again with the stereotypes :lmao: I’ve literally never seen this in my life nor done it myself (call y’all dirty, brag about  better lifestyle, etc) and why would I when 95% of my fam who I love live outside the US :rip:

and what kinda fiction, we don’t use the race card nearly as much as your delusioned to believe.

Don’t project your feelings of inadequacy, whether true or not, onto others.

Oh no I didn't explain that well. I mean that the Entertainment Journalism world felt labeling Twin Peaks: The Return as tv was lessening it, and that it's a film. So a lot of Television journalists attacked back and it was a whole thing about TV being looked down upon despite the stars you mentioned jumping ship so to speak.

Television is way more diverse, but doesn't get the respect it deserves. Is what I meant. TV is seeing success with all types of diversity that the film world claimed would cut into their pockets. They're just seething now. So I'm loving these movements calling out the film world for the B.S.

Funny, if this thread was about black representation and anyone tried to discredit in any way shape or form it would be an issue for you and ATRL would immediately go to Defcon 5 but considering it doesn't involve or affect you, you have no issue doing it to other minorities.

I wasn't trying to checkmate anyone. I wanted clarification so I'm not just assuming the meaning of post like you do mine. And the answer is what I expected, and I still didn't get an answer from said poster. But if its the same as yours, that what I was expecting anyway :toofunny2:

Maybe if there weren't a minority of people who felt like they're the only ones allowed to feel victimized by anything. And let me stress minority because I know that these people aren't true representations of the groups they claim to be a part of. And that goes for the self-hating Hispanic above me.

Don’t project your feelings of inadequacy, whether true or not, onto others.

Im not being stereotypical, just telling what most of us see when we look at you.

And well, maybe you don't, but A LOT of our people do, they somehow think they're superior just because they're "living the dream", and again, most latinos who live in the USA have this... Caucasian mindset, messing up our beautiful language and adding words that don't even have a real translation, using their own cultures as a costume, a shell.

Chicanos, not all of them of course, somehow feel superior to other minorities, (i.e. blacks/asians/etc) and degradate them. But the second they're called names suddenly they're "WOKE" and "PROGRESISTS FIGHTING FOR RACIAL EQUALITY".

At least I'm proud of where I come from and my ancestry. But to each their own.

Have a good night.

You could at least quote me if you were going to talk about me. Sweetie i'm far from self hating, I love my culture and my ethnicity, I just happen to be educated unlike many of the posters in this thread.
