To help make the countdown more reflective of your votes, I’ve updated the weight of each chart component. Previously, after finalizing the vote each week, your votes would count towards 30% of the final chart, streaming accounted for 20%, video views and Shazam tags at 15% each, and sales and radio data at 10% each. Beginning with last week’s countdown, the weight of your votes changed to account for 50% of the final total. And instead of each other component receiving its own percentage, I am now combining the scores from the top ten of each component, and that combined score accounts for the other 50% of the vote. To find the component score, I use the same metrics (20% for Streaming, 15% for Shazam + Video, 10% for Sales and Radio). I score the top twenty vote and point getters on a 50-point scale, where #1 gets 50 points and #20 receives 2.5. Songs receive extra points with each vote it receives, and they will also lose points with all negative points received. Excited to see how much your votes influence the chart!
