This method is good to calculate gross revenue but ineffective when it comes to real record sales. Lemme validate it just because my fave is top 15.

She was the #1 billboard female hot100 artist last decade so this is not surprising..

Ayumi Hamasaki - 21,875,000

Physical singles are 1/3 of an album sale but it’ll be weird to see how they handle Japanese physical single sales since Ayu’s practically selling an EP and not a single.

Her last update was when streaming and sales were inflated in MJD’s formulas.

What is the difference between his first formula and the new one? Didn't Rihanna gain like 15m CSPC when she got updated.

Read the methadology. This isn't a regular sales list.

Which goes to show that the methodology is flawed.  Beyoncé is not a bigger singles artist than Madonna and neither should Maroon 5 be above Queen. :skull:

He was overweighting Spotify and excluding YT. But he was also inflating sales and, after doing an audit using the list of eligible certifications Britney’s label posted on her official site (how nobody sued them is a mystery), he said he was going to start lowering sales for other acts.

She is thanks to singles growing steadily for the past two decades and she’s also able to sell/stream album tracks, B-sides and older hits (physical singles were available for limited runs). Obviously Madonna had bigger songs, though, and you can see that from the top songs list.

Ed Sheeran and Drake are too high.

Something is wrong about this list

Streaming has inflated the success of singles even further than digital sales did while weakening albums. It’s only natural that artists who peaked from 2005-2020 would be the strongest on the list. It’s similar to how artists who peaked from 1980 - 1995 had the strongest album sales.
