Not sure I wanna dance with somebody is enough to push it to the SEA/TEA. I don't think the other singles get much play. Now bodyguard should probably be re-certified since I will always love you alone would send it to another cert 10 hours ago, drmkng said: Britney is a legend Tis true... 11 hours ago, EnjoyTheSilence said: Did Bad really sell 1M copies since 2013 ? Well the thing that is DIFFERENT from Whitney is that when Whitney died I will always love you and maybe the greatest love of all probably got alot of spins. Also I wanna dance iwth somebody. MJ's bad singles: smooth criminal, bad, man in the mirror and the way you make me feel are songs that definitely contributing to the SEA/TEA push for diamond. 11 hours ago, King Maxx said: Legend. Probably not for a very long time. So true. I wonder if Rock with you and don't stop till you get enough are enough to get him 9x platinum with off the wall. Probably Dangerous: LOOOOOOVE remember the time video (it almost gets me emotional) seeing that as a little tot. I don't know if those singles are enough. Keep in mind that it's also relative in that it was not 30x platinum in the 80s or 90s. thriller was the definitive album that kept getting sales. 10 hours ago, Arthritis said: Fixed it for you... JustActinUP
Slay MJ!!! No one will touch Thriller's certification status. Garth Brooks was beast in 90s. Unfortunately, he was never really global Edited February 17, 2017 by JustActinUP

History (would that count towards it since it's a GH or the parent album) AHHH I see, thanks! I wonder if Madonnas true blue can go 9x platinum. Supposedly, many people say on the RIAA website that True Blue was certified 8X platinum in 1997, 2 years after it was certified 7X platinum. So if it's at 8M copies in 1997 then it may have been enough to push it to 9X? I know for sure it would be at least 8X. I've also seen some website claim True Blue has sold 9M copies. And TIC should be 11X platinum. Since 2001 it sold 1M copies through soundscan. Plus George Michaels Faith, according to Billboard, has sold 12M copies in the USA, and it's only certified diamond. It should be at least 11X

Bad is under-certified in the US even at Diamond but did sell considerably less than Thriller. That being said, it's still Top 10 best-selling albums ever... it's all about scale, Michael is a huge album seller, but Thriller is a phenomenon that no act could expect to match. No shade but how can it be under certified if it was just certified?

The single alone has sold 1.1M DIGITAL downloads, which would contribute a lot to the SEAs/TEAs. Plus with sales alone it should be 5X
