Chart Analysis

  • For a MAJORITY of the week, The TOP 5 were in a battle for the #1 spot, it wasnt until Friday where The Weekend and Katy Perry took a leap. Ending in a TIE (Both got 104 Points), the first tie breaker is whichever song appeared on the most Countdowns, which gave The Weekend (15 Countdowns) the edge of Katy (14 countdowns).
  • Dont cry for Katy just yet! She may have missed that #1 DEBUT, but shes still broke a record. "Chained to the Rhythm" debuts at #2, becoming the HIGHEST DEBUT SINGLE since I started the Countdown in January of 2016. She beats Lady Gaga's record debut at #3 (with "Perfect Illusion"). Katy ALSO scores the MOST APPEARANCES at #1, hitting #1 on 6 countdowns.

After commenting through tha section today, I can definitely see that Lorde is definitely coming for the top spot :duca: Plenty already have her at their #1 spots and there's still several charts (like mine) that will have ha debut later this week
