Right?

If I remember correctly, EVERY solo Jay-Z studio album since 1998/Hard Knock Life has been a #1 album. (Knowing how Jay picks his release weeks I have a hard time seeing any of these albums not debut at #1).  His first two albums are the only two studio albums in his catalogue to miss #1 in the US, charting at #23 and #3 respectively.

He currently has 11 #1 studio albums, and another 2 collaborative #1 albums (one with Kanye, the other R. Kelly). His EP with Linkin Park also went #1.

"Breaking up JAY-Z’s hot streak between 1998 and the present are seven charting titles that did not reach No. 1. Among those: his first collaboration effort with R. Kelly (The Best of Both Worlds, peaking at No. 2), a best-of album (Hits Collection: Volume One, No. 43), a live set (Live in Brooklyn, No. 36) and even an acapella title (The Black Album: Acapella, No. 106)."

Why didn't they include Shady XV, Southpaw, Eminem Presents: The Reup, The Singles, and Straight From The Lab for Eminem then?

Exactly! Because if that’s the case then Eminem didn’t have 8 straight #1s. I don’t like that they’re discrediting Jay.

The blueprint 2 - #1 (2002)

The Black album - #1 (2003)

Unfinished business - #1 (2004)

kingdom come - #1 (2006)

American gangster - #1 (2007)

The blueprint 3 - #1 (2009)

Watch the throne - #1 (2011)

Magna Carta Holy Grail - #1 (2013)

4:44 #1 (2017)

Okay. Thanks for clearing that up.

I can't be mad at the smart and strategic way those additional albums were titled.
