I read both Perks of Being a Wallflower and On The Road.
Omg Perks is going to destroy OTR (unless it turns out really bad for some reason).

Dead at people continuing to try Lana.
She's NOT a big pop girl. She was never supposed to be, even with the SNL promo.
It's like coming for Robyn or M.I.A. for not performing on the charts, it's not what they're about.

Jack Kerouac, meet Kristen Stewart: 'On the Road' movie debuts trailer
Stewart was a major advocate for the movie, and before haters of the sparkly-vampire movies get up in arms, it's worth remembering the impressive indie filmmaking career she has built for herself beyond Bella Swan, playing a not-quite-burned-out young prostitute in Welcome to the Rileys, a spot-on Joan Jett in The Runaways, and the girl of your 1980s dreams in Adventureland.

ON THE ROAD Trailer
Anyhow, although I'm sure there have been more, right now I can think of only one other trailer of a film adaptation of a literary work that placed a strong emphasis on words: Fred Zinnemann's 1977 drama Julia, starring Jane Fonda and Vanessa Redgrave, and based on Lillian Hellman's (highly fictionalized) autobiographical book Pentimento.
Wrapping this up: when I post my list of "most eagerly anticipated 2012 releases" — hopefully I'll get that done before December 31 — On the Road will definitely be there. The film, by the way, still doesn't have a US distributor. If The Weinstein Company (or some other savvy distributor) gets this one, don't be too surprised if On the Road and its talent become key 2012/2013 awards-season players.
