As some of you might have seen I spent last year compiling lists of my favorite songs from 2004, which for me was one of the best (if not the best) years in music of the whole 00s decade. I really wanted to share the final result in this thread so I'll be posting sets of 20 songs with every update of my weekly countdown. If you wanna leave your comments they're appreaciated =).
181 Blink 182 - Feeling This
182 Band Aid 20 - Do They Know It's Christmas?
183 Alter Bridge - Open Your Eyes
184 Lindsay Lohan - Drama Queen (That Girl)
185 Dashboard Confessional - Hands Down
186 P!nk - Last To Know
187 Lostprophets - Goodbye Tonight
188 Bowling For Soup - 1985
189 LMC vs U2 - Take Me To The Clouds Above
190 Chronic Future - Time And Time Again
191 Westlife - Flying Without Wings (Live)
192 Liz Phair - Extraordinary
193 Celine Dion - Contre Nature
194 Busted - Thunderbirds Are Go
195 Counting Crows - Accidentally In Love
196 Sarah McLachran - Stupid
197 Switchfoot - This Is Your Life
198 McFly - That Girl
199 Taking Back Sunday - A Decade Under The Influence
200 Embrace - Ashes
Ashlee Simpson - "La La"
I used to like her a lot. Now I think she was just a stubborn talentless act. The song is here just for the mere memory of my teenage days.
Anastacia - "Left Outside Alone"
One of my guilty pleasures. She was pretty famous back then I don't know why she disappeared..
Busted - "Air Hostess"
My favorite song by this band. It still sounds like anything other bands could've released.
Ronan Keating - "I Hope You Dance"
I liked this song, but it wasn't even close from the stuff he released earlier. LIARC is still one of my favorite songs.
Clay Aiken - "The Way"
Back when American Idol singles were hits no matter how generic. Clay made a decent effort with this one though.
Westlife - "Smile"
This is their weakest lead single IMO. I love Frank Sinatra but this version didn't live up to it. They still delivered good vocals.
Joss Stone - "Right To Be Wrong"
One of the most underrated songs ever. The lyrics are beautiful and her vocals are flawless. It's more of a 2005 song.
Utada - "Easy Breezy"
One of my favorite asian artists. This song is her signature english single and also her best. I wish she had found success in America.
Natasha Bedingfield - "Unwritten"
I'll admit the first version of this song didn't impress me that much. Eventually it became one of my favorite songs of the decade.
Ryan Cabrera - "On The Way Down"
Even though he seemed like the typical ex boy band member he was actually very talented. Nice debut single.
John Mayer - "Daughters"
He might be a jackass but his songs kick some asses. The lyrics of this song are so touching. One my favorite songs by him.
Mya - "Fallen"
This is the only song of hers I ever liked. It has this touch of sexyness while keeping it classy.
A*Teens - "Let Your Heart Do All The Talking"
This teen band was so underrated. They might not have been epic vocalists but their songs were so dancey and funny.
Finger Eleven - "One Thing"
I adore the lyrics of this song. It has a strong message. I'm yet to look deeper into this band's discography.
Fantasia - "Truth Is"
The idol of the year. She had amazing vocals, I remember I used to root for her. She lacked of that "it" factor to make her stand out though.
Korn - "Y'all Want A Single"
I normally dislike very loud rock music. This is one of the few exceptions. It's perfect for those moments in which you're just blazing in anger.
3 Doors Down - "Away From The Sun"
Even though it's not precisely like that, I find this song so sad. It's still great.
Ashlee Simpson - "Shadow"
I can't help it, she has to be here. The summer of 04 was one of the best times of my life and unfortunately I was listening to her album during those days.
Maria Mena - "Just A Little Bit"
This girl is extremely underrated. She has this sweet voice tune that I really love. This song was re released internationally during 2004.
Yellowcard - "Only One"
Without a doubt this is their best single. It would have made it higher but I saved it for 2005. They're yet to top this song with all they did afterwards.
