Did Christina wait too long?
I'm not talking about now, but early in her career. Did she wait too long for her second album?
When Christina came out, all of her contemporaries released often (J.Lo, Britney, and P!nk), they never took a break of any kind until they were at their 3rd or 4th albums. By the time Christina got to her second they were far ahead of her.
Basically, what if Christina had released a follow up to her debut, then released Stripped or release Stripped soon after then her third and so forth would things be different. Because the length of time between Back to Basics and Bionic was lengthy for a pop artist.
I noticed this is a mistake pop artists make by waiting too long and things coming out wrong (examples: Paula Abdul, Nelly Furtado, etc).

No, she didn't. Well, not for the time frame you're talking.
I think she should have released Lotus earlier than she did, but her Stripped and Back to Basics eras went quite well, so I don't think those breaks really affected her then.

She always takes really long between albums which is why she flopped twice in a row. Gurl you gotta strike the iron while it's hot.
That 2 year gap between Bionic/Lotus was a really big mistake. But oh well, she's always been like that so if she's happy doing this then I'm happy I guess..

I don't know if that particular time was a mistake. I wouldn't rule it out completely, but she did have the Spanish album, Christmas album, Nobody Wants To Be Lonely, and Lady Marmalade in between.
Waiting 4 years after Stripped for B2B was a mistake though. And then another 4 years for Bionic. Way too big of a gap

That too. Your Body/Let There Be Love should have come out earlier in 2012, which would have been perfect since there was a lack of dance pop at the time. The time she released was too competitive for someone making a comeback

Debut (1999) >MI Reflejo (2000)>Stripped (2002)>Back To Basics (2006)> She lost a lot of fans here, because The B2B era was too boring for them/ Then she became a mother>Bionic (2010) Now she released an album, using the strategies of 1999 releases.
Her big mistake? She was disconnected with her fans since 2007 until 2010.

She should've released an English/Spanish album in 2000, simply because Latin music was huge then, and she was big then. And she could've promoted more.

Well she was steadily releasing things for the first few years of her career with the debut, spanish album, xmas album and Stripped. It wasn't until after that, that she took a true break. That time was okay because she built up a lot of anticipation for B2B and everyone was ready for her to return because they loved the Stripped era. When she did it a second time after that was when it started being not such a good idea.
One long break is understandble. Take another long one if needed but to do it consecutively is really bad for pop stars of the 21st century.

Everything was perfect except for the fact she released GH in 2008 instead of the album. If she released Bionic back then she would've easly get on with electro pop trend of today and would still be relevant name on the music charts.

Long breaks aren't bad things in and of themselves, but in the case of Xtina's recent albums, they've resulted in late-sounding tracks and really spotty promotion. Which, in addition to the extended hiatus, has negatively impacted her current and last eras.

The mistake break was the one after Back to Basics. Lots of new popstars rose up during 2007-2010, like Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, etc. They took her spot because she didn't release anything to compete with them and show people she was still around. Then when she did release Bionic, people were preoccupied with other girls and she didn't even come up with strong material (NMT anyway). She should've released her fourth album in early-mid 2009 instead of a Greatest Hits, then put out a greatest hits in 2010. And Bionic's imagery should've been more like Keeps Gettin' Better's, which was more colorful and pop-artish instead of the black, white and red minimalist photoshoot for Bionic.

By the time she released Stripped, Britney was on her third album.
One year after Bionic, Britney was on her 7th album.
By the time Rihanna was on her 7th album, Christina was in her 5th, with 6 years of advantage. ( Mi Reflejo and My Kind Of Christmas don't count)
Yeah, she's been TOOOOOOOOOOOO slow.

I think so, I think Stripped could have had more legs but she strained her vocals and had to cut that era/tour short. The break between Stripped and B2B was long, but she kept changing her image and people interested in what she would do next. It was the break between B2B and Bionic that really alienated her "fairweather" fans; she had an idea for Bionic early on and decided to release a Greatest Hits instead of Bionic and then took on Burlesque prolonging her album releases.

Taking long breaks affected her longevity.
The main problem here is that she wasn't in position to take such long breaks in her early career, new artists are supposed to work faster because they have to build a fanbase that needs to be consolidated for their future careers.
Taking long breaks is a luxury that only legends with 20 or 30 years career can do , just like U2, Eagles, Madonna etc , because their fanbase are strong enough tanks to their constant job during their early years, a new star like Xtina was back then wasn't supposed to do that yet, she wasn't at that level.
She was new and generations change fast, people grow up, and she gave them little material, people moved on, those long breaks eventually hurt her.

Yes and not have a strong stable fan base (caused by the extreme different sound from previous albums)
with each album Christina loses more fans than she gains because her music is all over the place in terms of genres. And a whole lot of other problems that lead to what position she is currently in.
What you thought was your best decision.....Just became your worst mistake

Yeah, I mean a lot of people here love 'Back To Basics' but I think it was a step back, too oldish material, she could have had like a couple of oldie tracks but not the whole album!
