Compare Your Faves' Best Era With....
The E.N.D.
No, I'm not a BEP stan; I don't even like will.i.am
The E.N.D. is quite possibly the most ideal pop era of the last five years. Huge sales, very memorable hits, big tour (I believe it was north of $100m?), was overall just a GREAT era for a pop artist/group, especially in 2009. So, I wanted to see if your faves' best era could compare in terms of its achievements; identify the era and check all the options that apply:
_ Sold at least 10 million worldwide.
_ Went at least 3x platinum in the US.
_ Went at least 4x platinum in the UK.
_ Had two 6x platinum hits in the US.
_ Had three #1 hits in the US.
_ Had a $100m tour.
_ Had at least 10 weeks at #1 in one calendar year (cause 26 would be unfair)
_ Scored two VEVO-certified (100m+ views) videos -- if not during YouTube era, ignore.
_ Sold 300k+ in the first week.
_ All singles peaked within the top 10 in the US.
_ Won Best Short Form Music Video at Grammys.
_ Nominated for Album of the Year at Grammys.
_ Had 3+ Top 10 Year-End Hot 100 Hits.

My fave has had better eras than The E.N.D. And those eras actually garnered classic songs that became critically acclaimed.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was arguably the most successful Beatles era. I'll use that one for comparison.
√ Sold at least 10 million worldwide. (Sgt. Pepper's sold more than 32 million albums worldwide)
√ Went at least 3x platinum in the US. (Sgt. Pepper's surpassed Diamond certification, 11x Platinum)
√ Went at least 4x platinum in the UK. (Sgt. Pepper's is not certified in the UK but it would be 16x Platinum if it was)
x Had two 6x platinum hits in the US. (I believe Sgt. Pepper's never actually had an official single)
x Had three #1 hits in the US. (See above)
x Had a $100m tour. (They stopped touring before they released this album )
x Had at least 10 weeks at #1 in one calendar year (See two spaces above)
√ Sold 300k+ in the first week. (I'm not 100% sure but judging by its huge reception, I wouldn't doubt it)
x Won Best Short Form Music Video at Grammys.
√ Nominated for Album of the Year at Grammys. (It actually won this award)
x Had 3+ Top 10 Year-End Hot 100 Hits.
The losing point for this era was that it didn't have any singles and they also stopped touring a year before they released Sgt. Pepper's. From that point on, though, their sales were higher than ever. Now that is no promo success. It is also one of the most highly acclaimed albums of all time to add a bit in there.

These ones. Christina Aguilera sold 17 million worlwide, went 9x platinum in the US, and had three number ones singles (Genie In a Bottle, What a Girl Wants, and Come On Over Baby). I Turn To You peaked at number three. She won Best New Artist at the 2000 Grammys.

I heard that they actually stopped performing because of this album. It was such an innovation in studio production that they couldn't play a lot of their songs live anymore.
EDIT: Never mind. A little bit of research suggests it was the "bigger than Jesus" controversy.

Let's be real. Nobody cares if it got a 60 on Metacritic when it was so successful in 2009.

Basically
Not to mention CG was the song of the summer in 2010, and became the biggest summer song of all time. On top of that she's had a summer song in the top 5 for 3 years in a row, from the same album
Drake / The Weeknd / Azealia Banks / A$AP Rocky / Kanye West / Katy Perry / Rihanna / Marina and the Diamonds / Selena Gomez / Ellie Goulding
