Here Comes Honey Boo Boo! Wednesdays @ 10|9c on TLC
Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is an American reality series that debuted on TLC in 2012. It is a spinoff of Toddlers & Tiaras, based around the contestant Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her mother June Shannon.
The series follows the Thompson family, focusing on the daily interactions between the family members and June's attempts to enter Alana into beauty pageants. Other focal points in the series involves the teen pregnancy of eldest daughter Anna, Jessica's attempts to lose weight, as well as visits to the Redneck Games and auctions.
Hollywood Reporter stated that the premiere episode did well, "scoring a 1.6 in the coveted 18-49 demographic and notching a whopping 2.2 million viewers".
Anybody else been watching? Tonight was the 2nd week of the show.

I think Momma has a gay brother that she's close with because Alana says she has a gay uncle and "we call him Poodle."
This show is so funny... and the culmination of everything that is wrong with America.
How so?
The family loves each other, the children seem happy, they're not ashamed of who they are, and they (or at least Alana and Momma) actually seem pretty open-minded. That's liberating, not wrong.
Shows like Real Housewives (which I also love) are far more offensive and "wrong."

That's so true... you're absolutely right. I was referring to their obsession with pageants, which are very much looks-based and superficial, and the fact that they're almost all overweight. Plus they're hungry for money and attention by doing this show. But in all seriousness I definitely agree with what you said, I was being unfair.
