No secret that Nicki has some sort of re-release coming out. Not that PF:RR is short on pop smashes, but if she was to collaborate with Calvin Harris (which fans have said they wanted), would it smash?

Obviously We Found Love is CH's biggest track and the easiest to emulate, but here are some other tracks that give some sort of idea what it could potentially sound like:

I think a Calvin Harris collab would be the only exception to the fact I'm really done with pop Nicki for a while after PF:RR, I want more just crossover hip-pop Nicki. Something like Bounce where she's rapping but in a more taken-back and NOT obnoxious (looking at you, Roman Zolanski) way.

This. PF:RR has more than enough pop on it, but there will be a few pop tracks on the re-release. No doubt in my mind. And almost everyone in this thread is missing the question; would a Nicki/Harris collab smash. And in my opinion, it would. Anything Calvin touches turns into a smash.

I can see a new track by Stargate (as they've written a few demos for her), a new one by David Guetta (also featured on his re-release), a new track by RedOne and then a final one by Calvin Harris.

How many tracks will the re-release have?

It'll probably only have 4-6 tracks, anyway.

I like pop music WAY more than I do rap & hip-hop, but when it comes to Nicki, I want her to do the hip-hop stuff... I actually prefer Nicki's pop tracks, but it doesn't suit her as well. She needs to stick to rapping & let go of this pop/blonde ego.

So, I think she should save this collaboration for sometime WAY down the road when she wants a pop hit.

Well going off of what Willy said, it'd be pretty dumb to collab with Calvin Harris when Whip It, Va Va Voom, Automatic and even some of the slower tracks like Marilyn Monroe, Young Forever, and Masquerade are waiting to smash.

Plus, like I said before, Roman Reloaded already has more than enough pop on it. And recording even more pop tracks wouldn't be good for Nicki's hip-hop/general public credibility, but that's for an entirely different thread. But to answer the OP question, I do think a Nicki/Calvin collab would smash.
