Since the Born This Way era has ended, it's clear Gaga is trying to do some damage control with her persona, and is being more open/playful on twitter/lm.com etc. But is this actually Gaga's true personality, or is she truly more like the more uptight/pretentious Gaga of the Born This Way era?

Stans will know that she was like this before she was famous (from videos) and during TF/TFM era. Then she started taking herself seriously and as a result cried all the time during 2011, as she said herself. She's just being herself again.

You're exactly right. Marina did not invent the concept of "archetypes," Gaga's been doing it since the minute Just Dance was released. Each era will be a full embodiment of what we expect of our popstars. Marina just told people up front what her concept was; Gaga's been living it every day.

Watch the Y&I and MTN videos, they explain this idea. Any one personality is not any more "real" than the others, they're all equally valid parts of her. Infinite rebirth, as she said in the Born This Way mini-era. You can be anything and everything and no one gets to tell you you're wrong.

I'm a massive Gaga stan but if people can't recognise that she was self-indulgent and pretentious in the born this way era... I'm asking is that her true personality, or this new relaxed and fun Gaga her letting down her walls and being true with her fans. Obviously there will be bits of both that are true, but which persona is more believable.
