I doubt that! I think she can have a hit with a big ballad, but to recreate the magic that We Belong Together had will be hard. She needs to provide something new/fresh and not worry about recreating WBT. A ballad around Thanksgiving/Xmas would be great!

I'd love it to happen, but it won't. An urban song hasn't gone top 10 on the Hot 100 in like 6 months. Mariah won't be able to do it.

If it was the pulse remix as the main single it would be flying up the charts.
A lot of people were underwhelmed by the original version for the rappers but mostly cause of how she was not singing lead. But i think she will pull through just you wait and see.

She won't pull a WBT this era because her amazing vocals are now gone. She just sounds awful even on that brief feature on her own song. She just resorts to firing up unnecessary whistle to cover up her obvious vocal degradation. I've already lost faith in Mariah Carey. But she still remains my all-time favorite artist.

Have you heard the vintage remix of "Triumphant"? definitely miles better of vocals in anything of her last 2 albums

The funny thing is that WBT does not even showcase her signature vocal acrobatics. It is just sung real straight and I guess that was part of its appeal. It was raw.

This isn't true at all. That A5 slays and that coda at the end with the C5 is probably the best belt she has ever sang in that decade.

But compared to other signature songs the song is simple. There are great vocals, sure. But I believe the song was so big on radio because there are not several whiste/high notes and acrobatics.

She can but NOT on the Triumphant single. Her team is probably testing the water. Triumphant is just a buzz single. Obviously, that did not work at all. So, hopefully she'll release another single soon or wait 'til IDOL begins next year. She should release it on the show. We really had a Mariah-drought but the fans did not deserve Triumphant!
