So we all know Britney Spears was the main winner during that night, walking away with 3 moonmen, including the major award, Video of the Year. But here's the catch, does she deserve it or VMA just felt sorry for her infamous 2007 VMA performance, Gimme More and felt obliged to make up for that aforementioned performance?

In theory "Piece of me" is not a great music video ... the thing is that the group of nominees that year were really bad.

Even "Piece of me" was like the most decent music vid nominated that year.

So relatively to the group of nominees that year... I can say "Piece of me" deserved the awards.

Sorry I can't say Tokyo Hotel or Jonas Brothers deserved it more.

We all know why she got the sweep, to generate the hype. But she did deserve some recognition for the comeback that was to come, them snubbing her from wins in the past and so forth. "Piece of Me" isn't the best video in the world, but again the other competition were practically ****.
