A friend of mine and I just got into an argument over who has had greater career and the larger impact on the music industry. She thinks Cher has, meanwhile I know it was Janet, so just to keep me sane, who do you think has had the greater impact and feel free to state why.

Cher. Janet seems to be bigger in the US since a lot of people are voting for her.
At least where I live, Cher has a bigger impact than Janet.
