Following the release of the Summertime Sadness video, I googled to see what news sites were reporting it. I checked out the Huffington Post article considering it's a popular site, and I can't believe some of the comments

She should "act" at being a vocalist who sings in tune. Fat Chance.

I felt suicidal watching her performance on Saturday Night Live.

She is so overrated. She isn't a good singer, her music is boring, she isn't that pretty (especially after her lip injection issues). What is the draw here? yawn.

Are these just the degenerates you find on comment sections or does the public really hate her? it seems like with every video release, there's people bashing her. Why though? Her lyrics are amazing, her songs are amazing, she's creative as hell. I don't get how the public doesn't see that.

Well, I don't know about everybody, but I know some people feel that the indie thing she has going on is fake, she can't sing/doesn't have a lot of talent (solely because of the SNL performance tbh), she's too depressing/serious. Basically.

Also she is different,unique,vintage also she is edgy and has non commercial music.
Her music can be oberwhelming and a lot of people hate depressing music.
But who gives a **** anyway in the end?She doesn't need the money anyway and still makes millions.

Everyone gets hate comments on blogs/YouTube; it's life. Go look up Lady Gaga article; a Katy Perry article; a Rihanna article; any artists article -- they all have hate comments. It's not like everyone is saying nice comments to every artist but her.

The ones who actually takes the time to make a comment are usually bored haters. I mean, if I read an article about Lana (who I adore) I wouldn't take the time to comment on how great she is. I don't have to, really. But if I read an atricle about let's say Katy Perry I would happily make a nasty comment about her.

Those comments aren't really special. You'll find those under every blog about a pop artist. The people that I have asked about her tell me they don't like her because she can't sing(stuck on the SNL performance)or that she is boring(understandable).
