Will anyone beat Katy's record?
Katy Perry holds the record of 69 consecutive weeks in the top 10 on Billboard hot100 chart. Previously, the record was held by Ace of Base with 48 weeks (in 1993/1994). It is certainly one of the biggest achievements when it comes to hot100, but can someone take it away from Katy in the near future?

Not for a long time. Perhaps when the next generation of pop stars arrive, it will happen.

Yes. Having longevity on Hot 100 has become easy in digital age, and now with the addition of streaming, it has gotten even easier. So,watch it.

True, I guess the thread should be asking how long will it be until someone breaks it.

Well, I personally think it is the hardest hot100 achievement to top, but okay. Will the record be broken in the next 30 years?

Of course someone will. Like someone said, records are meant to be broken. This was a pointless thread.

No. That would be "Most weeks at number 1 on the Hot 100", obviously.

This is more than "digital age" though.
It's really about hitting the mark, each single following the other in/out of the top ten. Only so many albums produce multiple, consecutive top ten hits that last for the next to swoop in.

I think a huge reason this could be so hard to break is that timing has to be absolutely perfect for the most part. It seems really easy to miss just a week or something, which would start the record from scratch again. It needs the right mix of catchy music, promotion, and timing to stand a chance. Considering Katy set the record so high, it will be a whileee before it gets broken

Depends on how long the album eras last and the handling of the singles.
Gaga and Rih could do it, but the timing of their singles usually suck
