Adam Lambert says people who slam him online are 'wasting their energy'.

The singer found fame on American Idol, but his blend of goth looks and pop voice isn't for everyone.

He has hardened himself against the mean things being written about him on websites.

'Internet comment sections are not real life. When folks are able to remain anonymous, they waste their energy by hating others to make themselves feel better about their uneventful lives,' Adam told Just Pop! magazine.

'When you realise that most of the negativity is bred out of loneliness, boredom and insecurity, it doesn't hurt quite as bad.'

Adam doesn't mind if people offer his constructive criticism.

Although Simon Cowell is sometimes rude to people who appear on his TV talent shows, the singer insists that his approach is a good thing.

'I found him amusing and helpful. Y'know, he tends to wear a bit of a smirk when he tries to stir the pot. And his honesty was refreshing,' Adam said.

Adam has recently been rumoured to be joining the judging panel of American Idol, following the departure of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.

Yeah, the interent is a breeding ground for the worlds dumbest people. It's a shame that while the internet can do so much to unite people, it also gives the ignorant people of the world a soap box to spew their irrational feelings and thoughts.

As long as he knows that none of those comments mean jack **** and are only being said by people to make themselves feel better, then he's on the right track.

But he really does need some constructive criticism. I really don't understand how he's only had 1 hit in the U.S.

But anyway, I like a lot of his singles but was never too interested to check out his albums.

I always loved Adam. He can be over the top and quite the obnoxious gay, but he's extremely talented and his songs really aren't as bad as people try to make it seem. Also I spot no lies here. This is good advice for anyone when reading comments on the internet, tbh. Especially youtube.
