Adele's "21" = most Top 10 wks (female album) in US and UK
As reported by Billboard today for the US charts:*
Adele's "21" spends its 72nd straight week in the top 10, falling 7-9 -- its lowest rank yet -- with 41,000 (down 3%). "21" is now tied with Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill" for the most weeks in the top 10 for an album by a woman.
Although it was never officially reported for some reason, this is what Musicweek said when it dropped out of the UK top ten after 71 weeks;
marking its departure from the Top 10 for the first time, after a glorious 71 week residency...21 has the longest consecutive run for any album by a female artist. However, it is one short of the cumulative record for weeks in the Top 10 for an album by a female solo artist: Lady GaGa's The Fame and Amy Winehouse's Back To Black have each racked up 72 weeks in the Top 10. **
And as we know, it re-entered the UK top ten at No 9 this week***, thus equalling the record.
And death. Adele is just trying too hard now...I hate this success
Are you sure? Adele hasn't left her mansion for pretty much the entire 21 era.

"Adele Adkins is a savior. She has saved the music industry by reversing every catastrophic record sales trend of the last 15 years. She has saved us from our loneliness by sharing her own stories through her once-in-a-generation pipes. Our Legend in the making and our legend in the now. - Margret Lyons
