Apparently the academy loves her latin music, but they don't show the same love for her english music at all.

2007. Best pop collaboration with vocals ("Beautiful Liar with Beyonce")
2008. Best pop collaboration with vocals ("Hips don't lie" with Wyclef jean")

The most notable snub came in 2003 when her album "Laundry Service" despite its success was completely snubbed by the academy.

I'll tell you. She doesn't release her material at a practical time for the Grammy's to notice its success, she doesn't particularly care to show up for the Grammy's, and the Grammy's are based in the US where she gets like 10% of her success from.

I also think that image matters in Grammys unfortunately. Shakira doesn't take herself too seriously and constantly experiments with her music

I do think her english music deserve more nominations.

She does deserve more english nominations....go listen Oral Fixation Vol. 2 and Laundry Service....its pure grammy material, the critics loved the album. BUT NOP...she didn't....its like they only like her spanish material to be nominated, because she does have alot of latin grammys anyway.

She only had 2 english albums anyway...not countdown SHEWOLF cuz that wasn't Grammy material back then...saying BACK THEN because right now, it would be perfect grammy material.

She's a Pop artist who has spotty success in the U.S.

In order for the Grammy committee to better consider her, she will have to get bigger hits and more attention in the United States with her English material. Being commercially successful will better place her on the radar of the Grammy committee.

Additionally, she has only had 1 fully English album ("Oral Fixation Vol. 2"). She keeps on unnecessarily tacking on translations as if she is afraid her English material is not strong enough on its own.

She needs to be more confident and just release an English album without back-up, safety measure Spanish translations of her singles.
