10 years would be the maximum. It's unlikely he would get that if convicted. Even if he does get 10 years, with good behavior it'll be 5. Probably up for parole in 2.

1st degree murder (depending on the state) would either get life or death penalty, if they plead not guilty and get convicted.

Drug possessions depends on the state, the drug, and the amount.

I think every country needs to re-work the copyright laws. And have people actually understand what is wrong from right. The kid may not know what he was doing was illegal. Did they give him warnings to stop? Were the shows on the site American and not British? That's two of the questions I'm wondering. If the US had nothing to do with the copyrighted materials, than they have no business melding into this, and this should be left for the UK government to decide.
