Janet Jackson's last era, "Discipline", was one of her least successful. The sales were disappointing and it failed to produce a Top 10 hit in the USA. (Feedback peaked at #19).

But since she's apparently recording a brand new album, do you think she'll see success with this next era? Do you think she'll get a Top 10 hit and good numbers with the album? Or you think it will be on Discipline's level?

I don't think so. Not with ageist radio, and especially since 2004 Janet hadn't had a hit since. I think she will go top 20 first single, and everything else will fail. The album and tour will do good though.

we'll have to see. hopefully the material is good. and the promo is great. Discipline could have done really well but they stopped promoting her after the release of Feedback. singles choices were all over the place

I think her next era will be somewhat like "All For You" im hoping

I just hope the music is good, because I hated Discipline & 20 YO.

I think the worldwide sales will be better than her last album because she toured in Europe, South Africa & Asia last year. All she needs is more promo and a bangin first single/video.

I think the industry ''Prince'd'' her. Top 40 blacklisted Prince a long time ago as well but he kind of is a one-man show anyway who is just making music just for the sake of music and does shows for his fans just because he enjoys it.
We will see though because it seems that the hardcore MJ stans are here for Janet and you never know.. I wish her the best. Im here for a new Janet concept album with Jimmy/Terry production.

Why did you make this thread when you're not even a fan and couldn't care less about her? you made this because of what was discussed in SYG.

Anyway, I think her next era will be a success. She's taking her time with this album and if she comes back with the right material she could do decent numbers.

Tbh I really don't care about shocking sells anymore.. she's been there done that. I just want the music to be amazing and creative...and her to actually WRITE and put songs together..like she used too.

She definitely needs radio support, which is unlikely. I would love to see another top ten for her, though.
