Children



How would you feel about your off-spring turning out to have different sexual orientation, religious views, political views or moral values than you do? Do you care?

For example, if you are straight, how would you react to your child being gay? If you are religious, how would you react to your child choosing a different religion or deciding to be irreligious (and vice versa)? If you are a liberal, how would you react to your child developing conservative views (and vice versa)?

I want my kids to be happy. Period. So it doesn't matter to me if they are gay or have different views morally or politically than me.

Well, i'd hope that they at least retain tolerance. I think that that's the most important aspect of any relationship that includes point of views that vary significantly. But hey, what can you do. It's not always a bad thing to have variety. If everyone was a carbon copy of the previous generation then we would have gotten no where as a species.

Sexuality, I'd be fine with... Religion and political views would be trickier.

If they're gay, I literally would not care. I'm not religious at all so if they decided to be religious it wouldn't bother me. If they grew up and decided they were against gay rights or womens rights that would definitely be difficult to deal with I'll admit.
