Why did Leona flop with Echo?
She was established as one of the music's newest and most talented vocalists, Spirit had sold around 7 million copies worldwide.
But why did Echo underperform?

It is a nice song, but was a poor choice for first single. Having said that it did decently in the UK.

I think there are a lot of strong tracks on there. Its much better than Spirit.

I love "Happy", but it's not as anthemic as "Bleeding Love".
The public isn't very attached to her either, perhaps because her personality is a bit lacking.

Cause Happy was a bad single choice as a lead single. It's great but it was rather weak compared to Bleeding Love and Better In Time.
That pretty much killed her hype outside of the UK, since the album was certified 2x platinum in there.
This album is a masterpiece  It's way better than Spirit if you ask me.

Technically, maybe...but she never feels her songs. She just sings them -- emotionless. There is nothing special about her voice aside from the fact that she can hit a whistle note here and there. She screeches and squeals her way through songs otherwise.
