90 The Idler Wheel… is a really incredible album, where Apple has quite cleverly developed musically in just the right way, creating something utterly distinct and different to her earlier work whilst still retaining all the characteristics that won fans over to begin with.

It'll go down eventually. I'm pretty sure Extraordinary Machine was at a 95 for ages, and somehow it eventually fell.

Not deserved. Fiona Apple is so overrated. A 60 at best, just like Extraordinary Machine.

I feel critics are rating it high, because its Fiona Apple. Any small indie artist that releases a new album that seems "artistic and deep", critics always rate it in the high heavens. The pop girls always get the lower scores.

I will admit, the album tracks have been good so far though

The album is pretty amazing, though. The official version of Extraordinary Machine (her last album) wasn't all that.

I think if they had touched up Brion's version of Extraordinary Machine then it would have been a whole lot better than the official release. (which I still love *shrug* )

Not all "indie" or "artistic" albums get high scores though.

Yes Fiona!

It's not her best, but it's still fantastic. One of my favorite albums of the year so far. And the song Regret is my absolute favorite track of the year at this point.
