A one year break doesn't hurt anyone. Kelly Clarkson has a two year gap after every album and all of them managed to shipped +1 million albums and she still gets big hits. But Kelly has been in the business for 11 years already so I don't know how it would work for Gaga who's been in the business for 3-4 years,

I don't get this trend of this or that pop star constantly needing a break. And not just any break but a year long one I mean hello normal people work hard as well for years and years and only get a month max to rest. Why would a twenty something year old need a year long break from work they love

I think after this tour she should take a small break. I feel so selfish for saying this, but I don't want her to take 1+ year break, because I love her music, appearances, and tours so I would miss that.

Her media blackout was pretty much rendered useless by Madonna, you know. She's still been in the headlines since January, and not for anything good either.

If we're talking about what's suitable for her career,she need not take a break since she's away on tour and isn't in the spotlight right now anyways.But she shouldn't release her new album too soon.I'd say not to release it before December.
As a person...um,maybe she should.She's been working non-stop for years and the tour is going to make her so exhausted.She's a person,afterall.From that perspective,she should take a short break,say 3-4 months after the end of tour before starting anything related to the new era.But I know she won't.

Pop stars can't really afford to take hiatuses either. I mean, look at Nelly Furtado. She was the hottest thing back in 2006-07, and now... Everyone in the GP has pretty much moved on from her and don't use her anymore. And with the girls that are present on the charts, grabbing number ones right and left, Gaga will find it very hard to slip back in if she takes a full year off.

I agree that she should take some time for herself, and she has.

She also can't leave a vacancy either. Not even for a full year. Not unless she ends her next era at a high point, rather than a massive slump like Marry The Night.

umm FIRST OF ALL sis,she didn't said she's going to release album SOON,she only said she's going to reveal her next album's title in SEPTEMBER. it's already been over a year since born this way was released and she's probably going to release her next third OFFICIAL solo album in 2013.so that's like almost 2 years since born this way.but she should TAKE A BREAK FROM TOURING after BTW tour.I don't want her to have a meltdown or something like that.

No. If you take too long of a break in today's mainstream you lose much of any attention you had before. Plus, you know she wouldn't be able to take a break, because she'd constantly be writing and producing the whole time just because that's what she always does. She writes on napkins in bars and on the road during tours and whenever something important happens in her life, so I doubt she could take a full break and stop writing and producing even if she tried.

Either way, a lot of people are severely underestimating her lately; the general public hasn't really heard her in about 10 months since MTN didn't exactly smash. I don't think they're totally sick of someone they haven't heard in major rotation on radio for almost a year, and it will have been a year when her next single comes out. As hard as it is to believe, the year between her last hit and her new lead is longer than the break we had between "Alejandro" and "Born This Way", and that felt like forever.

She still sells more albums than anyone else but Adele, so I don't know how some people think she's going to flop, especially when this next record is supposed to be more commercial than BTW.

The public needed a break from her and that is what we are getting...strategically she most likely will release in November so it is good that she is keeping her fans wanting more on tour without being in the public eye.
