The pressed saying Bey doesn't count with her DC years is beyond laughable. Of course that counts. And of course Bey will hit 20+ years in the industry. She's probably hit 20+ even if you do discredit the DC years, not that you should.

Justin, for example, was local with NSync and only known worldwide because he was Britney's boyfriend before he released Justified in 2002. I didn't even know Beyoncé's name until "Say My Name", DC's first worldwide hit and even though the focus was on her, thanks to her father, I still saw the girls as a group and the changes in the line up were widely publicized.
Moreover, their solo career is so different than thier group one, that it feels natural to make the distinction between the two.

Patrick is celebrating his 10 year anniversay now.
I'm sure he'll make it till 20. He may never be all that successful (comparatively), but he'll always have the career.

They wouldn't have released their debut in the States hadn't they found success internationally.

Britney, Bey and Usher will without a doubt meet and surpass 20 year careers.
I think Rihanna could possibly have the staying power, but at the rate she releases music, she can't really keep going that long. If she wants to last, she has to slow down.
I don't really think Lady Gaga will last much more than 5 years. I think people will get bored with her attention-seeking eccentricities and move on. I think Born This Way was her last big era. She took all of the steam she had gotten from her two fantastic previous eras, and put it into promoting her new album. I think people were anticipating it so much, but then lost interest when they heard the music. Nobody will take her seriously anymore when she promises the album of a generation.
I'd like for Katy to stay around, but I can't really see how. I think she's an artist that people won't care for the more she ages.
Shakira
But where is Kylie on that list of artists with >20 years?

And yes, I would put Brandy, Monica and Christina in the same box, even though Brandy & Monica have been around longer.

so how many years do you think Brandy and Monica have?

Rihanna is already at a 7years career,if she take a break and relax for the next 2 years she going to be okay,i think (hope) she gonna go slower with her release now that she is cemented in the pop world.
But the question should be who will still be relevant 20years into their career because some people have a 20years career yet they're FLOPS

About the same. 17-19 years. Monica's been a bit more consistent than Brandy in recent years, though.

Rihanna's gone 7 years without any signs of slowing down, what makes you think she couldn't be around by 20 years?
afraid to live, and afraid to die; what a way to exist.

Beyonce and Britney will definitely reach 20 years of music career, from the new artists, I can see Gaga and Rihanna reaching that aswell, I dont know about other artists like Kesha, Katy, JB or Taylor.

I think 10 or 15 years is easy but who will pass the 20 year mark or the even harder/better the 30 year Iconic status?

Bey and Britney for sure. Probably Pink, too. And obviously Usher.
I think it's too early into *this* generation of stars to say who will have the longest career.
