I'm paying the Diablo series dust right now cause Diablo III requires you to buy it (  ) and Diablo II is a mess to play in 2012. So, I wanna play something free but fun. Doesn't have to be something like the series (although nice alternatives would be appreciated). Just itching to get some gaming on.

Don't most MMO's and Online games require u to buy them?
The only MMO i really played was Guild Wars, just a one time buy and ur good to go. None of that monthly fee mess. And there r plenty of AI bots to help u if u wanna play the game but not have to talk to strangers 
But if u wanna not pay a cent, there's always DC Universe and LOTR Online. And Runescape

A lot of MMOs don't, actually. They make their money off of transactions for premium items.
Honestly those three games look/are a damn mess (especially Runescape, we're not in 2005 anymore  )

DC Universe thingy has become free I believe,
Lord Of The Rings Online is free too

MMO games are too expensive 
most of F2P games are **** too 
edit: oh btw, if you like Diablo series you should try out Torchlight , Dungeon Siege II. They are not MMOs but very similar to Diablo and they're cheap. The upcoming Torchlight II will have multiplayer co-op option just like Diablo though.

Super Monday Night Combat
It's free-to-play on Steam, and requires a lot of strategy. It's more important to not die and play defensively than to rush and kill. Class-based, lots of fun. Read some guides before hand. 
It updates every Thursday, and they've done a great job listening to their fanbase and keeping a balanced game.

And that is why i don't count free MMOs. I only listed DCU and LOTR since they started off as P2P (i'm pretty sure they did anyway, DCU defo did) and Runescape is just an old classic
I think Aion or something similar to that name became F2P recently, maybe look that up. But generally if u want a decent MMO, u gotta pay somewhere. Thats why i listed Guild Wars, it's great for a non subscription based MMO and Guild Wars 2 will snatch wigs.

And download NOX! It's very similar as Diablo but better!

I actually was in the recent open beta for Torchlight 2. Waaaay better than the original.

Maybe I'll have to try that out. I've been meaning to use my Steam account more often. Especially since I haven't played Left 4 Dead 2 in forever.

I went with MapleStory of all games.  Thinking about it brought a sense of nostalgia.
Also playing L4D2 (Steam, have had it forever) and Fallout New Vegas cause they slay.
