No promo, just an ad on iTunes (not that digital sales of albums count for much). But sales are really low right now so he's taken advantage if that. I guess he's just earned himself a strong enough fan base over time.

I just don't get why people want to make sense of the world. At the end of the day, we are all living on some random rock in the middle of a big black darkness which we know nothing about. It is pretty much a lost cause. Don't agonise over it...just enjoy life!
That's....odd, especially considering it is a country album and the UK usually isn't here for that.
