I love all Nicki's pop songs, but they all better stay out of the US #1 spot until "Whip It" slays the universe. After that I want "Va Va Voom" to hit #1 and I want "Right By My Side" to come back from the dead and reach #1.
"Pound the Alarm" will probably make it as high as the top three, though!
But guess what? It did better on the charts than all of the #1 singles this year. It made Billboard history and it also became Nicki most successful international single.
We Found Love, Sexy and I Know It, We Are Young, Somebody That I Used to Know and Call Me Maybe did better in the charts than Starships, although maybe Starships did better than Set Fire to the Rain and Stronger, and it definitely did better than Part of Me (we'll see all this for sure at the year-end charts in a few months I guess).
I don't know why everybody is panicking about Pound the Alarm though. The boost it got from the music video is much better than what 99% of songs get. Just give it time. I agree that Pound the Alarm probably won't go top 3, but it'll definitely go top 10.
That's just going to be dancepop overload. She needs to release Va Va Voom in between PTA and Whip It to add some variety.
We can't have three RedOne productions in a row, let Nicki release VVV in between PTA and Whip It's release dates.
