The most amazing thing about the longevity of 21 is that both Thriller and Born In The USA had 7 singles released from them, so got constant promo through those for 18 months or so. 21 has only had 4 singles released from it (only 2 of which had music videos), and its creator has been absent for months on end without performing/missing award shows etc.

Yet still it continues to sell near the top of the chart week after week. This album just sells itself on its own quality and momentum - amazing.

Her label has control over that. I guess they realize that the album is slowing down just a tad and decided to use a discount to boost it a bit. I guess they will be doing it here soon, too. Smart move.
