We all know that in the Pop music industry there comes, unquestionably, the Queen: Madonna. And then the Princess, Britney Spears. The sales & longevity justify it.
So far, Lady Gaga has proved herself as an impeccable machine. All her singles have gone top 10... except her last one. She is nearing 30 million albums sold, and when it comes to touring, the bitch is making more money than any other.
So, will Lady Gaga reach Britney's level of success: selling 100 million albums worldwide, being able to make hit records & selling out arenas in 12 YEARS.
Or, will she reach Madonna's level of success: which is really just Britney's multiplied by two. 200 million albums sold, being able to sell out arenas in 29 years - maybe not make hit records
It's sort of difficult to compare album sales though. The market for albums has changed a ton (okay, unless you're Adele). I think it'll be interesting to see what kinds of changes occur in the music industry in this area, especially with the rise of streaming music. If the music industry stays at is now, I don't think she'll reach those types of sales figures, and I don't think many others will either.
If Lady Gaga stuck with her The Fame image, her 3rd album wouldn't have sold as much as Born This Way did. I think she needed to switch up her image for the sales. She will continue to switch her imagine to keep selling records, but she will never sell 100 million albums. That milestone was last achieved by the upcoming Queen of Pop, Ms. Britney Spears.
I thought her album's sales right now are between 23-25M , so she's not near 30M copies maybe with her forth album, and I already feel she has peaked, I don't think she will have another album selling more than 10M in a calender year, she'll keep selling but not to the extent of reaching 80-100M albums I don't see it.
ďIím becoming a little more comfortable in front of the camera. I wasnít used to it before. I was thrown into a new lifestyle and everything I do is kind of filmed or photographed. Iím a private guy. I like to keep to myself. Iím shy, maybe. It gets kind of tricky for me but, Iím beginning to find the fun in it. I donít take myself too seriously so if Iím front of the camera, thatís what youíre going to get, me clowning around."(Bruno Mars)
