Madonna: Trashed by critics on the first 2 albums, that said she's gonna go away and never get a hit.
Cyndi: Praised, recognized as a future legend, said that she's flop-proof, future gay icon etc

Is this a K$ vs. Gaga situation, because both have exactly the same situation that these older popstars have gone through. Will history repeat itself?

Sufficient at writing & producing more than she is as an artist.

I'd say Rihanna & Katy Perry could easily be the 'Madonna' of our time in terms of
Bein' 'criticized by critics & thought of as one hit wonders' since their debut albums.
And much like a post 'Like A Virgin' Madonna, that clearly isn't the case anymore.

GaGa will most definitely remain the 'Cyndi Lauper' in comparison, though.
