I've been asking this question about J.Lo for a year now but yesterday's news made it clear it needs to be asked in a poll.
J.Lo began her career as a dancer, transitioned into movie star and transitioned successfully yet again into recording artist. And when her career hit the breaks, she reinvented herself once more: she opened the door for major popstars with recently dying careers (Xtina & Britney) to follow in her footsteps and jump start their careers. Because of J.Lo, reality TV wasn't just a place for long-ago has-beens like Paula or never-weres like Nicole. She made it OK for popstars whose careers had recently gone the way of the dodo bird to sit in the reality TV chair, so to speak.
So, does J.Lo deserve more credit than ATRL gives her?
Yes she does.
She's one of the best performers of our generation
yet she's overlooked.
Don't get me wrong, J.Lo's music isn't as
great as others are today
but she isn't disposable like ATRL makes her.
She was one of the first female ethnic moguls.
She really deserves a lot more.
