Has Gaga had an impact in music?
In another thread, Little Monsters were debating that Gaga has had more impact in music than Amy Winehouse.
My question is has Gaga had any impact AT ALL?
I mean she has definitely had a lot of cultural impact due to her outfits and music videos. Plus her huge gay following. Maybe even in Fashion.
But when strictly speaking about Music, what impact has she had?
If you vote yes, give me a reason.
-Don't say she brought back dance-pop since Dance-pop was never gone. Madonna, Brintey, Robyn etc have been doing it throughout their careers. And lets not forget the Black eyed Peas. Even Rihanna did it before her.
-Don't say Gaga is responsible for Kesha and Nicki. Since Nicki became famous being a rapper and Kesha is a TOTALLY different artist.
*This is not a troll thread*
History will show a dark time in our culture in which a million followers on Twitter became a key component to winning a Grammy. But thank God for Pink. While Christina Aguilera has a tendency to oversing, Britney Spears can't sing, and Lauryn Hill sorta stopped singing, Pink has managed to carve a brilliant 13-year-career by being something that is incredibly rare these days -- an artist. A complete artist. - CNN

Gaga has made a pretty good impact imo. and yes she did kind of bring back dance into the mainstream. not to say it was completely eradicated, but it was a rarity to have a dance hit that charted high and played much on the radio. Gaga sort of brought that back, with help from surrounding artists who had a similar drive like the Black Eyed Peas and Katy Perry.
but for fashion and social reform, she has definitely made an impact. i also like to think she instigated the trend music is taking to using alternative music and instruments in songs

Gaga's music came as more than just music, it was a full package deal, which has most noticeably been adapted by the likes of katy, nicki, and ke$ha.
And yes, she did bring back dance-pop.

This same P!nk stan who yesterday said that Just Dance and Poker Face are RedOnes songs, not Gaga's. Yet "So What" by her fave is obviously her song and not Mark Maxwells.

Alternative and instruments never left, sis.
But yeah, even if her impact wasn't as great as Amy Winehouse's, it's obvious that she has had a large effect on music since her debut.

She brought something refreshing to the mainstream scene. I can't say she brought dance-pop back but she definitely made it more interesting and got people interested in pop.
