I agree and understand your point, but shouldn't global also be a definition for well known? I mean obviously everyone knows Depp and Jolie, but maybe someone knows Shakira, Britney or Gaga better than them.

By definition of "well known" its singers. I mean can somebody that debuted 4 years ago be as well known as Lady Gaga? I mean everybody knows her. She had BIG impact. Nobody in the movie industry can have that impact. I think the last people to make such impact were the Twilight stars. But still, Lady Gaga is bigger.

Anyways, yeah, it depends on the person. But it's true that an actor couldn't likely debut in a film and four years later be at Gaga or Katy's level, ya know

Depends. Angelina Jolie can compete with the most famous singers. In most cases I would say she was even more famous too.

But in general, singers are more popular than actors and actresses. Look at the google searches, on Forbes etc

Except Madonna and U2 can bring those numbers.

I'd say actors are more well-known but if it was about the ammount of fans then Singers have the lead.

I think singers are more well known. I find often times movies are well known, but the actors can get forgettable especially over long periods of time. I could tell you how the movie, "Jaws" goes from start to finish, but I couldn't name one actor from it. I know the director though
