Airplay Update

Blown Away tracks are the only songs to make the top ten of the list. However, a few songs shortened the gap between Blown Away tracks and other tracks. (Breakaway songs were only 7 plays behind the bottom song from Blown Away). Other than Carrie, most of the music played was nostalgic, as Breakaway received its first full album listen in more than a year. It's a great album, don't know why I ever stopped listening to it.

In just four weeks, Blown Away has taken over my airplay charts. The song 'Blown Away' skyrocketed to my #1 song overall in just three weeks, currently a comfortable 15 plays ahead of the #2 song, which is also from the album, 'Good Girl'. The next highest song is 'Two Black Cadillacs' which is currently the #2 song of the week. It comfortably approaches the top 50 overall, sitting at #57. 'One Way Ticket' climbs just below, at #77. All songs from the album sit within the top 150, one of the few albums to do that. The album itself has also done damage as it rockets to #3 on my overall albums chart. It sits only behind Play On and Carnival Ride in terms of plays. Here are my top ten played albums of all time:

Normally I'd post this Saturday but I'm busy from tomorrow until Sunday night.

A pretty active week for the top half of the chart but not much happens at the bottom. Blown Away leaps 8 spots to #1 as previously expected. It makes me look like a crazy Carrie fan (which I guess I am..) but other people will be #1 after she stops releasing awesome stuff.... (never?). If Blown Away hadn't been released for 1-2 weeks, Gotye or Maroon 5 probably would've overtaken Carrie. Oh well.

The two debuts are not top 10 bound to be honest. Neither song is relatively new, but I'm just picking up on them now. They're both the second singles charted from bands with songs that peaked at #2. Weird.

Dark Side is the biggest mover this week, jumping to #7 in the top ten. It's not stopping yet and will probably make the top 3, if not #1. Owl City, Hunter Hayes, Adam Lambert and Justin Bieber all have nice increases as well.

Airplay Update

Not shockingly, Carrie still takes #1 this week on airplay. Next week may be the first week since the release of her album that she doesn't sweep the top 10 songs. That may be because plays were cut in half from the previous week, which were cut from the previous. (Not as much time!)

Blown Away spends another week at #1. The song is better than the previous #1, Good Girl, but seeing as it hasn't been officially released as a single, (just announced), it could fall from the top spot for a few weeks as Maroon 5 or Kelly Clarkson bullet up the chart. Don't expect too much time away from the top spot however, as the song has still been my #1 airplay song for the past 5 weeks.

Maroon 5 finds a new peak at #2 and Kelly Clarkson at #5. Many songs find new peaks as many songs, such as Carly Rae's Curiosity (down 8) and Gotye's Eyes Wide Open (down 7) fall from the top tier. Other songs that find new peaks include Shooting Star, Laserlight, Better Than I Know Myself, Wanted, Boyfriend, Never Close Our Eyes, Next To Me, In The End, and Apartment.

Debuting are Ed Sheeran's The A Team and The Wanted's Chasing the Sun. Both are late entries for the songs, especially Ed's. Chasing the Sun is currently rising towards the top on most people's charts and The A Team is done for a lot of people, as it was released in February. Both songs will probably make the top 20.

Call It What You Want never really went anywhere. It debuted and never made it past 37. It's not a bad song, but too many songs debuted above it, had huge bullets past it until it couldn't keep up.
