It is true that every artist has to go through that, but if you look at Rihanna it is obvious that Gaga really (kinda) faded. She is still huge, but nowhere near Katy or Riri when it comes to new releases, I am just waiting for her next album... I mean, comparing tours and albums isn't right, Gaga is killing when it comes to tours, but so is Madonna, and see her album sales now. People want to see Lady Gaga while she is still somehow relevant and IT, and she is going to have very successful "touring" career, but I think that a huge amount of people, actually to be exact - all people except for stans, lost interest, and she will hardly get people's attention in future. Album sales are gonna drop so much, singles will under perform and it is sad, and at the same time great that she's only been in business for 4 years and she came to that stage already. Sorry if I offended someone, but this is just my opinion.
But how does everyone define it girl? She still makes headlines no matter what she does, other females are always compared to her by the mainstream media, "gaga" has basically become a world-wide adjective...
This industry is a roller coaster ride. You can be at the top one era then the next era be in the dumps and easily go up again the next one. It Happens! And the fact she's selling out stadiums after a flop era should be a huge indicator she's not going anywhere!!
She had a flop single, not a flop era. BTW was still the second or third best selling album of 2011.
Lady Gaga used to be huge during TFM era. She was truly the "It girl" of the pop scene. But now it feels like shes lost her way. I mean people arent really "shocked" by what shes wearing anymore, most of her singles underperformed. Im not saying that shes unsuccessful her tour is doing great, but I feel like she doesnt have the excitement/hype that she used to have. I feel like shes used up all "the tricks/gimmicks" and theres nothing left for her to do.
Yes...mainly because she's not the only pop girl to wear weird clothings, do weird performances/music videos anymore. Back then, she was the only girl to do this...and that seperated her from the rest, so the attention got put on her and her music. But she's been in the biz for like 3 years already. I didn't expect her to be THAT huge in three years....
It's kind of hard to say right now; I'll need to wait until she's at a far enough point into the Born This Way Ball tour (or until she's released another album) before I can really judge anything.
She hasn't released anything since Marry The Night, and I haven't seen all that many 5th singles see much success (unless it was from an enormous past musical act).

the thing that bothers me with all the threads is people are saying Gaga is fading. if you mean by Gaga is fading because Adele dominated every chart with 21 then your wrong. no one can say that adele only crushed Gaga, she crushed every pop star thats in the game right now. Gaga was the #1 selling artist with her album from the US , the only single that under performed was MTN. and yeah shes not an " it girl" anymore, shes more then that. Oh yeah and one more thing, i want to see your fave put out a song with religion on the radio and see if it succeeds .
